Portal 2 level which explores the different use cases for staircases. Meant for beginner-medium players. Made use of Portal 2's built-in level editor to develop this project.

I was the sole developer for this project. The main focus was level design.

Background
This level was made as a part of my level design course at Sheridan College. The goal for this assignment was to build a Portal 2 level for beginner-medium players. We were meant to challenge them with 3 different puzzles to demonstrate our ability to create a balanced difficulty curve. This was my first time designing a proper level that could be played from beginning to end.

Choosing A Mechanic
When looking at the mechanics in Portal 2, there are many that are arguably more interesting than the stairs, but this is precisely why I found them interesting. Playing through the base game these are pretty much exclusively used as a way to gain height, many times the end solution to a puzzle will be finding a way to simply activate a staircase. I was determined to try and find interesting ways of using them.
